Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its response. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the message. It remains within our team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may receive basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view times and the pages visited

- The device's assigned IP address
- Visit duration on individual pages
- A referring site, when one is supplied

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Custer County guidance points to the Sheriff, County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry as the official holders. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure rules govern information entered there. We cannot control those practices, so review the provider's policy before submitting a request.

Links may lead to the Custer County Sheriff, Nebraska courts, state agencies, legal resources, or external search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal data.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.

Stat. §29-3523 controls dissemination of specified criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government record holder. For data within our control, a visitor may:
